Ashley Nichole Debes Septemeber 13, 1996- December 8 ,2007 Forever our little girl

Ashley with her very much loved Twinkie bunny:)
Ashley we love you and miss so very very much, thank you for choosing us to be your Mom and Dad,..

Ashley was originally DX with A.L.L, acute lymphoblastic leukemia on 4-11-00 at the age of 3 1/2 She endured 2½ yrs of chemotherapy and went OT (off treatment) on 6-9-02. Unfortunately, after 16 months OT she relapsed on 10-28-03 at the age of 7, it was decided that 2 yrs and 3 mths more of chemotherapy was needed. She went OT once again on 2-8-06. 14 months after Ashley completed her relapse protocol, 4/26/07 at the age of 10 Ashley relapsed once again in her bone marrow. We are working now to get Ashley into remission, after that is accomplished Ashley will be receiving a bone marrow transplant.

Ryan was DX with A.L.L on 1-10-04 at the age of 21 months, 3 months after Ashley's relapse. He finished 2½ yrs of chemotherapy on 7-31-06. He is now 16 months OT (off treatment) and doing well!

We have found a bone amarrow match for Ashley, however many children are still waiting for their match, please if you haven't already become a bone marrow donor, you just might save the life of another child fighting this awful disease. Thank you.

We have been receiving many e-mails asking where we would like memorials to be sent, please put memorials in our name, we will be using these to help pay for funeral costs, also we'd like to put some of it towards the "release of Ashley's ashes" Ashley wanted so badly to go back to "Hammock Beach" in Florida after transplant to "catch" sea shells. We spent a few day there before Ryan's make-a-wish trip and Ashley who was still on treatment wasn't able to go in the sand or near the water to stand in the ocean like her sisters and Ryan to sift for sea shells. In a few weeks, or soon as we can, we will be making a trip back to Hammock Beach to release her Ashes over the ocean. We promised Ashley we would take her back there, its not the way we intended, but nothing ever is. We know she is already free in Heaven, but it will mean the world to us to "see" her be free. Ashley wanted more than anything to see all of us happy, that’s all she wanted, for us to be happy, she told us that so many times. We are trying, really trying, but the ache and empty feeling in our hearts is so overwhelming, there is any emptiness I can't not describe in words for there are no words. We will fill our hearts with her laughter, her crazy doings, her funny comments, her beautiful smile, memories will never heal us, but they will make the days easier to get through.
Thank you, thank you for loving her as we have, for all the wonderful messages in her guest book, for being there these past many, many years, we are truly grateful...

Kelsey turned the BIG 13 yesterday! Happy Birthday kiddo!

We are doing ok, April 26 marks 1 year since Ashley relapsed, its hard to believe everything that has taken place this last year. We would have never imagined we'd be sitting here today with out her, we really thought transplant would be her cure, we miss her so much.

Ryan is doing well, he is really enjoying all the kids in the neighborhood, the block is filled with little boys his age! He is slowly coming out of his shell, like us he is just not used to being with other people, but he is doing wonderful.

Jennifer is doing great, we are so proud of her!

Thanks for thinking of us,
Robin
