Welcome to Brianna's Web Page ! It has been provided to keep people updated about our Child.
Brianna has always been a happy little girl, she's been through so much in the last year. Brianna hadn't been using her legs for 2 months, she had been using her arms and dragging her legs behind her.
We took her to the Naval Hospital and the doctor said she was just being lazy cuz she had just gotten over being sick, and I asked for a referral to take her to the Everett Children's Hospital. So on March 1st 2004 we took her to Everett, and the doctor checked her out and said that we needed to take her to the Children's Hospital in Seattle right away. Well at this time we didn't have a car, we had taken the bus to get to the hospital we lived 4 hours away. Well the nurse borrowed the doctors car and drove us to the children's hospital, Brianna ended up getting tests done and we ended up staying the night there.
Two days later on March 3rd we found out our 15 month old had Stage 3 Neuroblastoma, she had a large right paravertebral mass extending from T4-T12. She had her first round of Chemo on March 4th, she had high dose chemo the first day because of where the tumor was located and how big it was. She had her second round of chemo on March 29th, her 3rd round was on April 4th and she had her last round of chemo on May 10th. Brianna has been through lots of little surgeries, and tons of scans. She had to go through physical therapy to get the use of her legs back.
If it wouldn't have been for Courtney Brianna probably wouldn't be walking to this day.
In June Brianna was supposed to get her surgery to remove her tumor, we had the appointment all set up but then we got some sad news. On June 13th my husband's father passed away he only got to meet Brianna once, he died of Cancer. We ended up postponing the surgery so we could fly to New York for the funeral, it was a very sad day for my husband. Seeing as he lost his mom at 15, and then his father passes away of Cancer while our daughter is fighting her own cancer. When we got back home her surgery was scheduled for June 28th, and it was a successful day they removed 95% of her tumor. Brianna still has Neuroblastoma in her spinal canal, they have stopped all treatments right now we are doing scans every 6 months.
Primary Diagnoses 2 year old female with intermediate risk (stage 3) NB, now s/p completion of course 4 chemotherapy per A3961 CCG protocol (NOS) and 9 months post surgical resection.
Impression Residual mass, stable. Most likely residual ganglioneuroma. No evidence of tumor progression based on restaging evaluation and clinical evaluation.

When You Wish Upon A Srar
Journal
Saturday, January 6, 2007 10:42 PM CST So sorry I haven't posted a new journal page in so long, but life has been crazy. Brianna is doing great, in fact she has her 6 month scans coming up on the 22nd of this month. Granted I'm a little nervous but I know in my heart she's going to be fine, I just hate waiting so long to get the results you know.
She's a doing wonderful, she's a happy 4yr old little girl. She had a great birthday, and a great Christmas. This year she spent Christmas with her daddy, he came and picked her up and she got to spend a week with him. It was a little hard not having her there on Christmas morning but I got through it, and I got to talk to her on the phone so that was okay. When she got back home we had our own little Christmas, she opened all of her presents and had a blast.
I've been working a lot in the evenings, and I spend my days with my little girl. Soon she will be going to school and we won't have the days to spend together, it's going to be a good thing though I know she's going to thrive in school and I hope she makes lot's of friends.
Well that's all for now, I hope everyone is doing great. I will be checking out some more warriors pages soon, and don't worry I will leave a message to let you know I stopped by. Take care everyone, and god bless.
