Welcome to Ben's page. It has been created to keep our family and friends up to date. Ben was diagnosed with albinism in October, 2002. We later learned his biggest challenge would be a cerebellar astrocytoma, a small brain tumor, diagnosed in May, 2003.
Ben is currently doing well. He has had no surgery or treatment. He gets an MRI every three months and so far, the tumor remains stable. At the point when it starts to grow, it will have to be removed.

Journal
Thursday, March 20, 2008 Just a quick update. SuperFly Ben is at it again. He came into the room wearing a black knit hat pulled down to his chin so he couldn't see. He said, "Mom, look at me. Where am I?"
Just as I turned around, he fell over something and hit his head on the hardwood seat of the kitchen chair. I picked him up, pulled the knit cap off his head and he had blood everywhere.
I had to take him to the pediatric urgent care for stitches Sunday evening. He got three stitches, right between his eye and his eyebrow. And now he has a nice black eye to go along with the stitches.
Happy Easter everyone.
