Journal

Well....it's been about 9 months since our last update. There is alot to tell, some good and some bad. The good news is...that Olivia is still cancer free!!Praise God! She is having her scans done this week and we'll know results next week. She took ballet and tap over the spring and had the cutest recital! I was SO proud of her, what a blessing to see her up on that stage..and dancing!!!! She is getting ready to start Kindergarten and is just having fun this summer!
The bad news is...that my husband decided to leave us in January and filed for divorce in February. Our family has been thru so much in the past few years, struggling to get thru it and I guess the thought of more work or struggles to get our marriage back on track was not an appealing idea for him. Hopefully, everything will be finalized this month...it's been a tough journey! I have been a stay-at-home mom for 8 years and now find myself having to put my kids in daycare and re-enter the workforce. I think that makes me the saddest! I learned from our cancer treatments never to take a single day for grant it! I would have loved to stay home with my little ones at least until they were old enough to start school. Oh well- tough times calls for tough choices. It has been hard adjusting to having to do EVERYTHING for the kids alone, and muttle thru the financial situation he left behind and start to re-organize our whole lives....again! But, I have had great friends and family that have stepped up and stepped in to help and support me and the kids. We'll get thru this by the grace of God!! We have faith that if God was big enough to heal Olivia from cancer, he is certainly big enough to get us thru this!!!! I am posting new pictures.
We are sorry to report that we have lost a very close friend to Neuroblastoma. Elesha Debenport is the "E." in the L.O.V.E. Club! She died on June 22rd on this year. We miss her so much and think of her all the time. She had such a loving and caring spirit and loved to pretend, her and Olivia would play dress up with their princess stuff.
I still can't believe she's gone some days, but I am happy that she is no longer in pain and she is rejoicing with Jesus!!!!
I'll try to post an update when we get Olivia's results next week. Keep praying for her and for all the little ones who are still fighting the good fight against cancer. May they be strengthened and healed!
Thanks for all your prayers and caring support. We love you and welcome your thoughts and comments on our guestbook.
Love,
Tamela (Olivia's MOM)
