Hi! My name is Jana and I am 19 yrs. old with Spina Bifida. Spina Bifida affects one in 1000 people. Some people have many disabilities. I'm very fortunate in that I'm only paralyzed from the waist down. I have been in a wheelchair since I was 2 yrs. old. I'm going to North Central Texas College in Corinth. It's a community college where I am getting basics done then I can transfer to UNT or TWU to concentrate on my major which will probably either be Occupational Therapy or Gerontology. Sorry, I have posted in a week or so, but my parents and I went to church camp and didn't get home til about 10p.m. last night. It was ok. Could've been better, but oh well. I got sooo sunburned, but oh well. We had a kid that broke his leg playing basketball. It happen Tuesday about 4:30p.m. and the ambulance didn't leave til about 5:30p.m. IT TOOK FOREVER!!!! My dad went and sat in the ER with him til about 2a.m. til his parents could get there. At first, we couldn't get his parents which was freaking everybody out, but I knew he'd be alright. As far as I know they were supposed to bring him back here and do surgery yesterday. Why it took so long to get the surgery done, I have yet to figure out. Another kid got his lip busted Wednesday. It was a temporary tooth that just came through his lip so one of the guys that went had to take him to get stitches. I think it took 9 stitches, but he was alright. One girl burned her feet playing dodgeball or something Wednesday and walked on crutches til about mid-day Thursday and then decided to tell somebody what happened when she decided she couldn't walk anymore. So they asked my mom to take her to the med building. Actually they asked her to bring the golf cart, but when she got down there they just left her with my mom so she had to do it. Later my dad had to go get her from the lake cause somebody sent 2 girls up to tell us cause it looked like it was goin to storm so they were telling everybody to get off. He just took her to the worship center and told her to stay there, but when I went later she was walking across the street with one of our senior guys. Then about an hour from that she was standing behind the worship center watching volleyball in the rain. In the midst of all this we found out she had burned her feet doing the SAME THING....EXACTLY SAME THING...LAST YEAR!!!! ugh!!!!!!!! Oh well. It's over and we won't ever do it again!!!!!!

We got another German Sheperd today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!!!!! THE BIG 2-0!!!!!!!!!!!

Later,
Jana
