AIDEN ROBERT COYNE

Welcome to Aiden's web Page. Aiden was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis on August 2, 2004 at which time he started treatment and the long road to remission. Aiden has been affected by LCH in multiple organs including his skin, bone and liver. In Sept 2005 additional scans showed that Aiden's LCH has moved to his lungs and leg bone (even with receiving chemo) On January 30th 2007 2 1/2 years of battling Aiden was taken off the chemo therapy for LCH. In April 2007 Aiden was put back on the chemotherapy to help battle symptoms of his liver disease PSC (secondary disease of the LCH) Jan 2008 with a new x ray a new leason was found so we are now back on treatment.

good evening - today we had to leave our wonderful vacation at long beach island to go to wills eye emergency room for Aiden. Since april Aiden has had a red irritated, sensative eye. we have has 3 different options since then of what it was. Today we saw aiden's beautiful blue eye turn green (like a cat). I was so nervous that an infection or something was happening (dare I say LCH). So Bob and I took liam and aiden and went back to philly for the exam. We entered the wills eye emergency room around 11:15 seen by a doctor at 2:30ish and then a pediatric doctor at 4:00 and then a cancer/ongo doctor at 4:15 - then told that tomorrow at 9"30 am we should be back at wills eye for a biopsy of a mass in his eye. this is not the episclaritis that we thought it was - as the eye doctor diagnosed but possibly something much worse. So back down to Lbi at 5:00 to pick up Fiona and our stuff to head back home at 9:00 pm for our "surgery" tomorrow. Oh My I thought this was over - so it will take pathology results 24 hours to come back - tomorrow we go in aiden gets pictures and a biopsy and then goes home and then friday we should find out what the course of action is. We are also awaiting discussions with the chop docs to make sure they are on the same page. So our vacation cut short but at least we can resolve aidens eye issue.
Of course the kids were not so happy about us leaving the shore house as they were having so much fun and loving the beach and the water. I will post pics soon and on facebook. Keep aiden in your thoughts tomorrow as he will need them.
Love the coynes
