Welcome to Andrew Font's webpage. It has been created to keep family and friends updated about Andrew's health. Please leave a message anytime. It really does help to know that there are so many of you who care about Andrew and are praying for him. Andrew's birthday is 10/1/85. He is 6'2" and loves sports, especially basketball. He also loves animals and just hanging out with his buddies. Andrew is naturally gifted with the pencil and over the years became an excellent artist. He has two older brothers, Jesse and Sean and a younger sister, Lauren.
Andrew was diagnosed on December 9, 2004 with stage 4 alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma with the primary tumor in the paranasal/parameningeal, including the orbit. It had already spread to the bone marrow and there is a possible spot on his kidney and lung. Andrew was treated immediately with radiation and a chemo regiment of VAC. V-vincristine, A-actinomycin and C-cytoxan. He has been in and out of the hospital over the past few months for his chemo, tests, fever, dehydration and surgery. It's been a long hard road for him both physically and emotionally. The road is still long and winding but right now he is going forward. He is fighting the fight.
Thank you so much for your prayers and your words of encouragment. We can't do this alone. Thanks for stopping by.

Journal
Friday,Feb.8, 2008 6:12 PM CDT Andrew had clear scans in Jan. He now goes every six months. Thank the Lord.I can't believe it's been a little over two years that Andrew has been in remission. I pray every day. Thank you Lord! He turned 22 on Oct.1. WOW! When Andrew was diagnosed with stage 4 ARMS, he was given only a 20 hance of survival. With that, most kids relapse within the first two years. And he has not. I know of very few survivors after relapse. My Andrew has beaten the odds. I know how blessed our family is to have Andrew with us. Today, Andrew is healthy and is living a nornal young adult life. Yes, he has to deal with the complications of radiation and possibly the long term effects of chemo. I'll take it. He will take it. It's better than the odds that we were given. Thank you to all who have been supporting us through all of this. God Bless All Of You! Peace, Love and Hope, Christina
