"Beautiful Boy" by Celine Dion

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful Boy

Close your eyes,
Have no fear,
The monster's gone,
He's on the run
And your mummy's here.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful Boy,
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful Boy.

Before you go to sleep,
Say a little prayer,
Every day in every way,
It's getting better and better,

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful Boy (Beautiful boy),
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful Boy.

Out on the ocean, sailing away
I can hardly wait
To see you come of age
But I guess we'll both just have to be patient
Cause it's a long way to go,
A hard row to hoe
Yes it's a long way to go,
But in the meantime...

Before you cross the street,
Take my hand,
Life is just what happens to you while you're busy making other plans...

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful Boy(Beautiful boy),
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful Boy (Boooooooy)

Adam's battle with cancer began in August 2004. He had just turned 19 years old . The doctors thought it was kidney stones, but somehow mother's intuition kept telling me it was worse. Everyone I spoke to I told about the creepy feeling I had. August 10, just a week after our emergency room visits it was confirmed that they suspected Adam had renal cell carcinoma. After alot of calls and alot of begging we were able to schedule an appointment for late August for Adam in the cancer center. We met with the doctors and scheduled many test. When the test came back we were all set. Adam was to have his kidney removed for his renal cell carcinoma and then he would be fine. I kept asking if perhaps it was Wilms tumor but the response was no way....Adam is too old for Wilms tumor. I felt he was too young for renal cell but went with the diagnosis. It took until October for them to finally remove the kidney and the tumor and all finally looked hopeful. He had renal cell carcinoma stage II. In November when the biopsies came back we were told it was infact Wilms tumor. It was then that we went to a pediatric oncologist who treats Wilms frequently. After some more test and scans we found out that it was Wilms, it had metastisized to both lungs and it was now stage IV. The courage strength and determination that my son has shown through this battle has amazed me. Adam began chemo in November 2004.
P.S. If you get a chance please check the link about children with Wilms-their parents are so much more eloquent with their words and PLEASE REMEMBER TO SIGN THE GUESTBOOK. Your prayers and thoughts mean more to me than words can ever express.

Believing In Rainbows

Many of you know I lost my son last year to cancer ..When I had to tell my 3 little ones that Adam was gone I told them everytime they saw a rainbow it would be Adam....the moment I told them that in my dark and dreary house a rainbow came shining through the living room for all to see.....This was in march 2007 when we had that terrible snowstorm...so you know there were no rainbows yet there was one in my living room....

Today is my birthday and Mackenzies (my 5 year old).....As I was cleaning the bathroom to prepare for tomorrows company i looked at my floor....you guessed it....there was a rainbow right across my bathroom floor....i thought this was strange since the window in my bathroom is that block privacy type window...jillian my 6 year old came up to ask me something and immediately saw my rainbow.... She said "Mommy..look a rainbow...Adam came to let you know he is thinkin gof you on your birthday" i don't know about a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow but I do know I will always beleive in my special rainbow...
