Friday, May 4, 2007 11:17 PM CDT Well geez.. where to begin?? Brendon is 9! I'm sure you guessed that by the picture that I posted months ago and was supposed to add an update about. Oops! Things get crazy around here.
He is doing very well this Spring. It has been a blessing that he has continued to remain so healthy. He is going strong and just finished his gymnastics season. His strength is absolutely amazing. He is the strongest on the team but his form is usually a little off. He is learning how to do some more difficult "tricks", perhaps getting him ready to move up a level for competition? We haven't found out if he will move up or not. It's definitely more expensive and more time at the gym. I think 2.5 hours three time per week? Im not sure exactly.
School... well he still despises going, until he gets there. Before that time comes he comes up with a million excuses as to why he should not go. It can be anything from his toe hurting, to his belly to him being too small or itching..you name it. Once there he usually enjoys himself and has a best friend as well as this spring his first "girlfriend". He kissed her "on the face" and we had to explain to him that it was inappropriate. Too bd he could get sued for sexual harrassment for something that innocent. Oh well he denies having a girlfriend now.
Other than that everything is pretty calm. He still loves his video games and is now reading to earn them. He is very excited that he will finally have his "little baby brother" this Fall. No, Doreen is not having a baby, but I am, in October. He still considers it his brother though (even though we dont know if it's a boy). Thanks to Brendon and the hard work of others, the little one will now have the expanded newborn screening. I checked with the OB about me having to be tested and she said the risk is very low since Brendon is a cousin. She said instead we would get the screening and watch for symptoms. So there you have it. Thats our crazy life these days! We hope and pray that all of you are getting over winter yuckies and enjoying healthy and hopefully allergy free Spring days!
