Eagan, Minn. (Nov. 16, 2011) —
CaringBridge, a nonprofit providing websites that connect people experiencing a health challenge to family and friends, won an eHealthcare Leadership Award in recognition of being an outstanding healthcare website. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
CaringBridge received a Silver Award in the Best Interactive Site category. Sites receiving a 2011 eHealthcare Leadership Award were selected from nearly 1,200 entries.
The eHealthcare Leadership Awards program was developed by eHealthcare Strategy & Trends, a leading industry resource published by Health Care Communications. Winners represent 17 industry classifications, from hospitals and health systems to pharmaceutical firms and online health companies. Judges looked at how sites and other digital communications compared with others in their organization’s classification and also reviewed sites based on a proprietary multi-point standard of Internet excellence.
“Despite the challenging economic environment, organizations have continued to explore and invest in digital communications,” said Mark Gothberg, eHealthcare Leadership Awards chairman. “A significant number of organizations have made major improvements in their websites, expanded involvement in social media, more fully integrated traditional marketing with new media vehicles, and initiated mobile efforts to better serve current and future customers.”
Personal CaringBridge sites, provided online and mobile, save time and emotional energy by centralizing communication and making it easy to update everyone during a health challenge. Each CaringBridge site is unique – authors select their site design and add health updates and photos to share their story while visitors leave messages in the guestbook, creating a network of support.
More than 43 million people connected through personal CaringBridge sites in the past 12 months. For more information visit www.CaringBridge.org.
