Ryan Repchick
Thanks for stopping by. Please sign the guestbook before you leave. Ryan began treatment for Ewing's Sarcoma in July 2001 and finished treatment in April, 2002. We enjoyed two years and nine months of life post-treatment, and he was diagnosed with a relapse on February 11, 2005. We finished chemo August 16, 2005, and are currently living each moment to the fullest.
Journal
Thursday, July 2, 2009 Hi, it's Wendy. I'm sorry I'm so slack in updating. Life is blissfully mundane and we stay busy building a new life with cancer as a distant memory. I still hang onto life's lessons learned the hard way and I check in on so many kids, but Ryan tries to remain much more detached from the whole cancer experience. I guess when you've spent eight years battling cancer you look for the normal wherever you can find it. We have four-year scans next month (date still TBD) so please start saying those prayers now. St. Maarten is just a little over two weeks away. So far hurricane season really hasn't started, so I'm hoping it isn't waiting for us. Murphy's Law generally likes to tag along when we vacation. We usually take a four day weekend either in late September or October to break up the year a little, but this year my birthday falls on Labor Day weekend and the hotel we like to stay at is ridiculously cheap, so we are spending Labor Day at Myrtle Beach this year. Ryan finishes the summer semester in a little over a week, and he is more than ready. As for me, my stress Du Jour is Chase credit cards. They're targeting the people who took advantage of a low fixed rate convenience check offer, and effective August 1 raising payments from 2 o 5 f the balance. They aren't offering an opt out feature, so I wrote to President Obama, the FTC, consumeraffairs.com and the Attorney General. They're forcing good, paying customers to default, and that's the last thing America needs right now is more people who can't pay their bills. I doubt I'll update again before we leave for vacation, but I'll post some new pics when we get back. Thanks for checking in. Love to ROH.
