Bonnie Claire's Journey to Triumph!
Bonnie Claire was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor, stage 2 w/fav. hist. in Dec. of 2003. After 6 months of chemo...we were "all clear!!" A routine, follow-up CT scan in mid-October showed the beast is back...in both lungs. We needed a miracle...we are praying for God's will to be complete healing and for our family to have the strength to accept whatever His will is. *We can send prayers of praise to God! We are now - as of April 26, 2008 - THREE years off treatment for the relapse>

Bonnie is doing very well.
She is tired today. She just got back from “Camp Cousin” – she and Kary spend a few days with their cousins in Greensboro. I have tried to keep her calm and resting because she has another swim meet tonight – and I just can’t see her making it. She is just SO tired. It is a precious “tired” though. I know she was just so busy having fun with her cousins. Family is truly a blessing – and being tired is worth that blessing!
Pat has arrived from Canada – and we have already had a blast! We are truly enjoying all the comings and going – with Mary (cousin from Maryland) here in June, last week cousin Ashley stayed for a week, and Pat now, and Maura (another cousin) arrives on Sunday. I absolutely love the laughter I keep hearing.
We have had no word from Lexi (she is in Mexico on a mission trip). I am living with the assumption that no news is good news. Thank you for your prayers!
I spoke with BonBon’s oncologist’s office today. I was trying to arrange all her “scans” for August, and I found out she was supposed to have been scanned and examined back in February. Now, I know that was just as a precaution because of what happened in August – but – truly – it scared me. I KNOW in my LOGICAL mind that she really is fine, but, then – you know – that fear sneaks in and I start wondering why they wanted to see her in February if everything was gone. Yes – that fear is POWERFUL! When I told Dave about it, he said, “Oh, hm…that’s not good.” Now – Dave is my rock – and – I don’t like knowing that even HE is afraid.
So – as of now, her tentative scan/echo/blood work/examination is scheduled for August 18. I am waiting for final word from the office.
Off to get the kids together for the swim meet and basketball practice!
Thank you for checking in – even now.
