This is a fellow TBI survivor who with the help of God and much therapy: PT, OT, and ST. My accident was in 1995 and I was in a coma for 3 months and I like to be here for anyone who has questions about TBI and its recovery. It is very slow and the 2 bad words in my recovery were the P word and the T word, patience and time. But I see now since so much time has passed that that was all I needed. Thanks, Cathy

Andrea, I know one thing is possible. you can walk and go back to normal life. You have one thing in you that can make this happen" Faith".Not just faith but faith that is unshakable, If it happened to me it can happen to you.

Put your faith work and also get on foods and herbs that have healing properties.Do not depend solely on conventional treatment. There are a series of altenatives out there that are inexpensive and very very effective, but you need to laen about them.

Hi, my name is Pam and my nephew was recently in a car wreck(12 days ago). We live in the Asheville, NC area. Michael is 19 yrs old and only had his drivers license for 3 weeks prior to the accident. He sustained a diffuse axonal injury and as I was trying to research more details when I ran across your site. I just wanted to say that I found it to be very encouraging and yet scary as can be at the same time. We have never been given any time frame or hopes of recovery from the drs at this point. WOW, My family went thru a smidgen of what ya'll been thru. My grandma(Alethia) passed Oct '04 and her sister in-law(Maxine) March '05, then my grama's younger sister(Marg-gie) passed April '05 (my g-ma's birthday) what was really odd was that Marggie's Oldest son passed 3 days before her, unexpectedly; we think he went to greet her because she didn't want to leave her family behind.

Hi Gale and Andea!

I was touched by the stories that you have shared. It gives me much joy to know that you are getting better by the day.

You don't know me, but I feel as if I've known you for a long time.

My wife and I and our 3 girls live in the LA area without any other family. It isn't easy being on your own but as long as we have each other GOD will be on our side to protect us.

I also was involved in a car accident last Nov. 2005. By a MIRACLE, we survived without serious injury. I had my wife Nala and our baby Starlet in the car with me at that time. The truck that hit us crashed directly into my side and I actually SAW it coming....it was the most weird and horrific feeling to ever have. But for some strange reason, I was able to kick the door open and save my family......of course, after the shock, I realized that I needed serious treatment. We were rushed to the hospital immediately.

The only thing I can say is that I was THANKFUL and GRATEFUL for our father in heaven to watch over us and protect us from major harm. I also believe that we were saved for a reason. Maybe there is something else that we needed to do in this life for other people.....who knows huh?

Anyway, I just wanted to share that we you both.

Stay strong and don't let go of your faith and love. Keep up the great work.

Well Andrea, Im sorry you feel that way. My life does have to do with Andrea's life just, as hers does mine.. She too has had to deal with the things that I have. So, to me if she has dealt with my losses as well since, she is my daughter, she has accomplished even more than I have.

She feels the pain of her twin brother that died before she was born and other loved ones. Why, because she is human and not nick pickin at every little thing in life.

We are a family who cares when each other is in pain. I dont understand why you think I want someone to feel sorry for me when, I havent asked not once for anyone too.

To me you should have emailed me or found a different route to bash me than going through a guestbook that Andrea has to read and get upset over.

Maybe Im not the writer type but, I am honest and just try to help people understand life has not been easy on any of us but, yet through God, prayers, hope, faith, and being a family that shares each others pain we continue to keep going and not give up.

Hey Andrea and family! Hope this finds you having a good day today. Thank you for stopping in and signing Kris guestbook recently. I know he is keeping an eye on you. I sure do miss him and wish that I could spend some time with him. I saw a boy at church last night that reminded me of him from the side, and I couldn't quit looking at him. I could only wish for a moment that it was Kris. But, at the same time, I'm glad that I know where he is and that he is safe and content. So much has been going on lately. Sorry that I don't get to write as much as I'd like. Hope you forgive me. We moved over the Christmas Break and are now next door to my dad. I like that. He took Zachariah hunting a few days ago and gave him a camouflage coat. He told me a few days later that it was the coat that Kris would wear when they went hunting together. Ana has a big summer planned. She is going to youth camp for a week in June, then at the end of June she is going to visit her cousins in Florida and come back home around the middle of July, then she is planning on going on a mission trip to Mexico the end of July through August 3. She is now trying to raise money to pay her way. I've been busy helping her sell 220 Seafood fish plate tickets!! She asked me about you the other day, wondering how you are doing. She still has your and Kris' pictures all over her room. Well, my lunch break is about over with so I'll go for now. Please continue to keep in touch. We all love you!!!

Your story was very touching. I have a friend who was one of five children. Her father was a pastor and eight years ago on the exact date that Andrea was in her crash, they lost their second oldest son. I have become very close to this family and cannot even explain how strong they are. When I visit them we like to look over old family videos and each time tears form in my eyes. God truely does gift each and everyone of us. I couldn't even begin to imagine the times you have gone through, but you are incredibly strong. I hope that you all have a happy holiday season! Happy Thanksgiving to you both, Gale and Andrea and the rest of the family. So much to be thankful for isn't there, once we let loose of the things we wish were different.

Me, I'm still working on letting go of those things. Still have some anger issues to work out tween me and God. But, I'm trying and y'all are an inspiration.

Oh and meant to ask, any news on Andrea fulfilling her wish, to meet Tim? any headway there? I sure hope it's on the right track.
