Josslyn's Miracles
Josslyn was only 9 when she told us her left leg was shaking. We noticed that her left arm had a tremor also. The MRI she had on 12-11-01 confirmed a parents worst fear. Brain tumor. Brainstem glioma. INOPERABLE. Chemo/radiation offering no hope. 4-6 months to live. We took her to a clinic in Mexico Jan. 02. She was put on an alternative called Poly MVA. She had no bad side effects. Her tumor seemed to stop growing. She was still weak on her left side though. She couldn't use her left arm or hand. She would drag her left leg. She used a wheelchair for long walks in the store or hospital. In Oct. 02 Joss was given an overdose of steroids (48mg.) Her tumor started growing again. Our "angel friend" that we had met at the children's hospital told us of a boy she met who was diagnosed with a brainstem glioma BUT a doctor in New York said he could operate and did. That had been 3 years ago and the boy was fine. We contacted Dr. Patrick Kelly at NYU. He looked at her MRI and said it was not a brainstem glioma but a pilocytic astrocytoma. On 1-23-03, Josslyn had her golfball sized tumor taken out through a hole less than the size of a dime. Dr. Kelly assured us that Josslyn's left side would be worse after surgery. Her Daddy had a word of prayer with the doctor the night before the surgery. The doctor looked up with tears in his eyes and said, "I don't know why but I have a feeling that she is going to do just fine". Within 24 hours after the surgery, Josslyn could point with her left hand. She could raise her left arm and leg up in the air. She hadn't done this for 9 months. God truly performed a miracle. God not only led us to a doctor that could remove her tumor but he restored her left side. Josslyn is now 12 years old. She loves the Lord and has such an optimistic outlook. She did the whole time she was sick and never complained. I asked her the other night why she never complained. She told me she never remembers feeling any pain or fear. She said she felt as though she were in a bubble and that there were angels all around her. We don't know why God chose to do a miracle here on earth for Josslyn. We are so grateful for each day with Josslyn. We hope to provide hope for other families going through the same thing. If we can help one family out there who has a child that was misdiagnosed like Josslyn.....it will have been worth it all.

Monday, July 11, 2005 9:54 PM CDT Hello! This is a great day to say Praise the Lord!!!!!! It was exactly 42 months ago today that the doctor's told us Josslyn (who was 9 1/2) had only 4 to 6 months to live. She is tumor free and just turned 13 years old today!!!!!! Thank you God for letting us see our Jossy grow up into a beautiful young lady!!! Mom of Jossy
Wow! 13! Being a teenager is great! I now have 43 stuffed monkeys which makes me really happy. I also got to wear make-up for the first time which I have to say felt really good. It'll be so odd to be in 7th grade, although we still have many more adventures to come this summer. I've started writing a new book called "Over the Rooftops of London" and it's becoming a huge success. I'm hoping by the time I'm 25 I will have a book published, so if you're ever in a book department that says "By Joly McClung",{That's what everyone calls me now} remember where it all started. Well,I gotta go! Jossy, July 11,2005
